Dr. (Maj Gen) D V Singh is an alumnus of Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi and did his M.S. (General Surgery) at the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune. Subsequently, he pursued super specialisation in Urology with M.Ch. (Urology) from the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.
He has an outstanding experience of over 30 years in Renal Transplant having performed live related and deceased donor renal transplants as well as ABO incompatible renal transplants.
Besides renal transplant he has special interests and expertise in the field of Uro-Oncology and Reconstructive Urology. He is a skilled and accomplished Urologist with a wide range of surgical experience in performing Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) in Urology with different Robotic platforms, laparoscopic interventions, and open surgical operations in the treatment of urological cancers namely kidney, bladder, prostate, testicular and other urological cancers.
After having the experience of operating with the da Vinci surgical robot he trained on the new open platform Hugo RAS robotic system at Gent, Belgium and is the first urologist in North India to perform urological surgeries with this versatile robotic system currently installed at the Hospital.
He has an extensive experience in the surgical treatment of congenital and other reconstructive urological problems using the robotic, laparoscopic and open surgical techniques.
He has been a Post Graduate Teacher & Examiner in Urology at various Universities/Boards namely Pune University, MUHS Maharashtra, RGUHS Karnataka, GGS University Delhi, Delhi University, and the National Board of Examinations.
For his outstanding achievements in Urology & Renal Transplantation, Dr. Singh was awarded the "Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Commendation" twice in 2005 & 2013.
