Dr. Kanchan Dogra brings with her a rich experience of over 10 years in the field of Transfusion Medicine and has worked with premier institutions.
She did her graduation from Lady Hardinge Medical College and MD (Transfusion Medicine) from Government Medical College and Hospital, Chandigarh. She then did her Senior Residency from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, following which she joined Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS), New Delhi as Assistant Professor for a short period.
Dr. Kanchan's expertise in Clinical Apheresis has contributed immensely to raising the standard of care for patients and organizational growth. Her skills in Therapeutic Plasmapheresis, Immunoadsorption, and Double Filtration Plasmapheresis have helped to shape the solid organ transplant facility at the hospital.
She has immense experience in Stem Cell/MNC Harvest which propelled the Hematopoietic Transplant facility as well. Besides, she has expertise in donor-based procedures like Plateletpheresis and Plasmapheresis which was quintessential during the pandemic period.
She is an instrumental administrator when it comes to Blood Center Operations which harbours facilities such as Component preparation, Testing for Transfusion Transmissible Infections Screening, Immunohaematology for routine blood groups, Advanced workups, and Transfusion reactions workups.
Her overall abilities in the field have maintained quality assurance in our transfusion services for patients, for our donors, and in our testing laboratories.
She helped to establish the Peripheral Blood Stem Cell (PBSC) Harvest and Haematological Transplant Program. During her four years as the consultant in charge of the Blood Centre, the organization achieved many unrelated allogenic, haploidentical donor transplants and increased the number of ABO-incompatible solid organ transplants as well.
